Credit Card Debt
We all enjoy having a little excess in our lives whether it be in our shopping sprees, the hours we spend watching television or our chocolate-consuming activities. Unfortunately, such excesses are not good for our lives and can lead to the evil thing that most of us refer to as credit card debt. It's not pretty and it's downright nasty, kind of like Willy Wonka. Don't let your Discover credit card get the best of you!
Fortunately, there are ways we can make credit card debt disappear and give your credit history the face-lift that it needs. Here are a few ways you can reduce the amount of credit card debt that you owe on your credit cards:
- Limit your credit cards and transfer your balances onto one card. There's no need to chase your
credit card debt by several different cards. Keep everything under one tab. - Pay more than the minimum payment. With all the interest that accumulates by paying only the minimum, it will take space ages for you in order to completely pay off your balance. In fact, if you can't pay the entire balance off each month, it's recommended that you pay at least three times the required minimum to keep your credit card debt at least somewhat under control.
- Try not to spend more that you earn. Otherwise, you might want to consider marrying your
credit card debt since it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. - Avoid high interest credit card offers. Read the offers carefully before submitting your application to find out if the credit card offered is the right one for you. Most preferred are the secured credit card offers which allow you to pay for goods and services as long as you keep and maintain a savings account.
- Cash out your savings account. It might not be he ideal thing you may want to do, but it sure beats paying high interest rates on your
credit card debt every month.
