For starters, don't neglect it. You don't need people calling you to remind you that your kid has gone missing or needs to be reclaimed. Losing a credit card can be just as costly as losing a child. Unattended, the run wild and sometimes unfortunately in other people's hands. Sign the back of your credit card the same way you would your child's underwear.

Feed it. Nobody likes a screaming child on a packed bus or at the line at the bank. Starving your card will not only give it hunger pains, but give you the headache of having credit card debt as well. Feed it at least once a month and try giving it more than the minimum balance (your credit card needs protein in order to maintain strength and be healthy!). By paying the full balance each month you will not accrue any interest or any credit card debts!

Start a savings plan for college. A back up is always good, as is a secured credit card which allows you to have the same flexibility of a credit card, but with the security of a savings deposit. Educating the young ones will help them grow into fine young citizens.
